This project reflects on the evolution of architectural education through the legacy of Professor Dean Bryant Vollendorf’s foundational design methods and their modern reinterpretation using AI. Beginning with exercises in abstraction, perspective, and serendipitous creativity, students learned to “see like architects” before confronting real-world constraints. Years later, this teaching philosophy was revived through digital experimentation—first with AutoCAD solid modeling and now with AI-driven abstract compositions. The approach blends artistic intuition with emerging technologies, allowing students to transform AI-generated abstractions into tangible architectural forms through SketchUp, CNC routing, and concrete casting, preserving the spirit of creativity in architectural learning.
